Bobbi Owsley, OTR, CHT is the clinical coordinator for Colorado Hand Therapy. She has expertise  in the treatment of  upper extremity multiple trauma including skin grafts and flaps and tendon rehabilitation.  Bobbi graduated from the University of North Dakota magna cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy. Her  training in hand therapy was completed at Emory University in Atlanta.  Bobbi has been awarded the R.L. Petzolt Prize of Excellence in Research and has published articles related to hand injuries and rock climbing. Locally, Bobbi has served as chairman of the Denver Hand Special Interest Group. 


Jennifer Frey, OTR received her occupational therapy degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.  Her experience in hands began in Atlanta, GA with a physician owned therapy practice and progressed to the Vail Valley here in Colorado.  Previously having worked with client populations birth through the senior years, Jennifer understands the importance of viewing clients individually each with their own basic life, leisure and work interests.  She believes in motivating clients by incorporating their interests along with education provides a positive combination of tools for obtaining a successful rehabilitative outcome. 


Sue Gentile, OTR, CHT received her degree in OT from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.  During her 21 years of working in hand therapy, she has worked in hand therapy clinics in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Colorado.  Sue was a senior staff therapist at the Indiana Hand Center in Indianapolis where she was a co-presenter for the Hand Care ’86, ’92 and ’02  Conferences.  She was also a contributor to the 3rd and 4th editions of The Indiana Hand Center’s Diagnosis and Treatment Manual for Physicians and Therapists and has presented at hand conferences in the Denver aea. Sue brought her experience as a Hand Therapist to Colorado Hand Therapy in 2001.


Lyn Heathershaw, MSOTR, CHT obtained her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Women’s University. She received her certification in hand therapy in 1994.  In addition to her employment with Colorado Hand Therapy, LLC she has worked for the University of Colorado and Craig Rehabilitation Hospital where she was supervisor of the spinal cord injury team.  Lyn has presented at the American Spinal Injury Association, the International Symposium of Quadriplegia and has presented numerous lectures on such topics as tendon transfers and arthritis at conferences locally. Lyn has also taught at Regis University in the Occupational Therapy Program. 


Chris Luscia, OTR, CHT received his degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Hartford in 2001.  He has been working as a Hand Therapist since his internship at Colorado Hand Therapy in 2002.    Chris believes that empowering patients through education helps them to be responsible for their recovery.   Therapy in conjunction with a good home program is essential to achieving good results.  Chris passed the Hand Therapy Certification Examination in November o f 2008.  


Starla Maier-Walford, OTR, CHT graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colorado State University in 1999 and obtained her certification in hand therapy in 2006.  She has been working as a hand therapist since her internship at Colorado Hand Therapy in October 1999.  While at CSU, Starla pursued specialized classes in the treatment of myofascial disorders and co-presented a poster on her research of trigger point release for patients with chronic pain.  She has lectured on wound management and cubital tunnel syndrome.   Starla is bi-lingual and has a special interest in the treatment of Spanish speaking patients.  She believes that in order to regain full function, a patient must be viewed in their entirety.


 

Stephanie Musselman, MSOTR, CHT obtained her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University in 1998 and obtained her certification in hand therapy in 2009.  Her experience with hands began at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver and she has continued in both private and hospital-based clinics in Colorado, Vermont, and Connecticut.  While in Connecticut she was an adjunct faculty member at Housatonic Community College, where she taught upper extremity kinesiology for two years.  Steph believes that incorporating a patient’s unique skills and hobbies into their home exercise program motivates them to achieve their highest potential.  She joined Colorado Hand Therapy in December 2008.


Molly Stauffer, OTR, CHT, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Missouri in 2000.  She joined Colorado Hand Therapy, LLC in January of 2009.  Prior to her move to Colorado, she practiced hand therapy in Georgia, Washington and Tennessee.   Molly gained her credential as a Certified Hand Therapist in 2008.

 


Karen Voss, MS, OTR, FOC, graduated in 1987 from the University of Minnesota with a bachelors of science degree in occupational therapy and received a master's in health services from Regis University, CO in 2004. She attained the Functional Orthopedic Certification designation through the Institute of Physical Art in 2005. Karen furthered her training in hand therapy by completing a 6 month Hand Therapy Fellowship Program at the University of Michigan, Occupational Therapy Department in May of 2009.
